All with matching red cloth spines and patterned paper sides. 1: The Paris Sketch Book by Mr. Titmarsh (Thackeray, 1885) - f.e.p. and possibly other preliminary page removed, opens onto title page. The binding is otherwise firm. 2nd title to be published in this series. Some scuffs and rubs to boards and cloth chipped at the head of the spine, with short split to top edge of upper joint. pp. 376. 2: Poems by Oliver Wendell Holmes (1886) - the binding is firm, though superficial light cracks to inner hinges. Rubs to board edges and spine ends. pp. 384. 3: The Vicar of Wakefield by Oliver Goldsmith (1886) - the binding is firm. Rubs to board edges and spine ends. pp. 320. 4: Lays of Ancient Rome by Thomas Babington Macaulay (1886) - the binding is firm. Rubs to board edges and spine ends and fraying to the cloth at the head of the spine. pp. 256. 5: Poems by Bret Harte (1885) - front and rear endpapers removed but binding firm. All volumes have some foxing, particularly heavy to endpapers, pastedowns and in some volumes to the first and last few pages, and all have darkened / discoloured spines. Volumes measure 13.5 x 9.5cm approx.
