Single volume. Part two of the Gentleman's Magazine for the year 1797. Full calf binding. Five gilt-ruled bands to the spine; gilt rubbed. Corners bruised and rubbed, exposing board. Spine ends chipped, with loss. Partial cracks to the spine joints (longer crack to the upper joint, short crack to lower joint at the top of the spine only). The binding is firm. No previous owner's names, inscriptions or other marks. Illustrated throughout with some attractive engravings including Barracks at Hyde Park, Frinsham Church, Surrey, Shoreham Church and Bridge, Caldecot Church, Rutland, and others. pp. [3], 539-1158, plates.
