Inventory No. 107154

Hardback with dust jacket. Buff boards with line illustration and titles in blue. First published in 1940, this is a later printing - the book is c. late 1950s and the dust jacket is earlier and has probably come from a c. 1952 copy. The boards are rubbed and chipped at the spine ends, with a small hole in the spine. The binding is quite firm. There is a gift inscription written in blue biro at the top edge of the front endpaper. There are light general handling creases to all pages but the pages are clean, except for tiny mark on the front endpaper and a small, light mark on the page facing title page. Illustrations are bright and fresh. The dust jacket is worn; heavily rubbed at the edges, with loss at the spine ends, top edge and corners, light marks, small hole in the spine, front flap price clipped. Rear dust jacket flap has a full list of titles in the series (to date) - 15 titles listed, the last one is Pippety's Unlucky Day. The dust jacket is supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve. This does not adhere to the book or jacket in any way and protects the jacket against wear. (Book photographed without the protective cover, to avoid reflections).
