Scarce soft back edition; publication date 1952, first thus. The covers are worn, with rubs to edges faded spine, and splits to the head and tail of the spine at the front cover joint. Back cover darkened / discoloured and there is a pale grubby mark to the bottom edge of the back cover. Strip of dark brown discolouration between pages 160-161 where an old news cutting had been used as a bookmark. A few passages in the book have been marked in pencil. Loosely enclosed is a brief typewritten letter, signed by Bevan, dated 3rd February 1960 and with a House of Commons embossed stamp in the top left hand corner of the notepaper. The book itself is not signed; only the letter.
