Hardback with dust jacket. First edition. Original red boards, bruised at the spine ends and corners. Top edge tinted red, but with some pale splash marks in evidence. The binding is firm. A gift inscription written on the front endpaper (dated 1968). Some scattered foxing throughout (not extensive though it is more heavy to the closed textblock page edges). pp. xii, 378. The dust jacket has torn the full length of the spine / front joint, is rubbed, chipped, torn and creased at the edges, and has some loss at the spine ends. The dust jacket is supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve. This does not adhere to the book or jacket in any way and it protects the jacket against wear. (Photographed without the film sleeve, to minimise reflection).
