Hardback. Dark red / maroon blind embossed boards. 4th impression of this edition with the Hugh Thomson illustrations. There are a couple of minor marks to the boards and the spine is slightly fade. Light bruising to the spine ends. The binding is firm, though there is a light crack to the front inner hinge. A gift inscription written neatly at the top of the front endpaper (dated 1901). Deckled / untrimmed page edges. pp. xviii, 437, 6. Frontispiece illustration has tissue guard. Some foxing to the title page and frontis. A nice copy.
