Hardback with dust jacket. In the Hamish Hamilton pocket-sized Novel Library edition. Quarter black cloth, with lovely printed patterned paper sides and with matching dust jacket. Paper design is by Sarah Nechamkin, a Curwen Press paper. A lovely little edition. This copy has a significant / heavy forward lean, or slant, to the spine. The book is otherwise in quite nice, clean condition. The paper sides are bright as they have been protected by the dust jacket. Pages are clean and the binding firm. No previous owner's names, inscriptions or other marks. Boards are just very light rubbed at the spine ends and to a couple of corners. The dust jacket is rubbed at the edges, with chips, nicks, short tears, a small snag in the middle of the spine, and some minor loss at the head of the spine. Front flap not price clipped. pp. viii, 236. The dust jacket is supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve. This does not adhere to the book or jacket in any way and it protects the jacket against wear. (Books photographed without the film sleeve, due to reflection).
