Hardback. Original burgundy cloth with gilt detail. Minor bruises to the spine ends and corners. Black endpapers (may have been renewed but if so they are very neat). There is a very faint inscription on the front endpaper (so faint I almost missed it). Previous owner's signature and date of 1940 written on the half-title page. Pages are bright and clean throughout, except for endpapers / preliminaries which have browned. The binding is firm. A very nice copy of this illustrated edition. pp. xxiv, 309.
