Hardback, with dust jacket. Original red boards. In very good condition except that there is a slight bowing to the boards - both curve outwards very slightly. A small mark to the rear board. Imprint from an old (erased) pencil price mark on the front endpaper. The pages are generally age-toned / tanned but not browned. Light foxing to the outer closed textblock page edges and to prelims. The binding is nice and firm. No previous owner's names, inscriptions or other marks. Lists of Biggles and Worrals titles on the reverse of the half-title page. Black and white frontispiece illustration, plus 4 two-tone plates - all in very good condition. pp. 191. The dust jacket has heavy foxing to the underside and to the exterior of the back cover. Rubbed, chipped and worn at the edges, with minor loss to corners and edges and a larger section missing at the base of the spine. The spine is also slightly faded. Printed price of 6/- on the front flap. Biggles and Gimlet titles are listed on the rear dust jacket flap and there is 'A letter to every reader of this book' on the back cover. The dust jacket is supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve. This does not adhere to the book or jacket in any way and protects the jacket against wear.
