Publisher London and New York The London Printing and Publishing Company, Limited [c.1868-1870] 1870

Inventory No. 306109

Date of publication is not stated but is c. 1868-1870 [ref. British Library]. A sturdy half-calf binding with red spine label and black cloth boards. Presents nicely though there are rubs, bumps and marks to the binding and some tiny paint speckles to the boards. Faded ring marks to the front board. Faults need to be noted but this copy is better than it sounds. Joints are strong. Spine in 5 compartments with imitation bands. Original blue marbled endpapers. All edges marbled though dulled. Some foxing throughout. Some stains to the edges of a few plates, particularly the ones towards the front and back of the book. Surface cracks to inner hinges but binding firm. No names or inscriptions. pp. xvi, 1016. A HEAVY book - a postage surcharge will apply to delivery destinations outside the UK mainland as this book costs more to send than our standard postage rate will cover. Small surcharge may apply to UK highlands and islands and N. Ireland; larger surcharge for overseas destinations. NO additional charges for sending within the UK mainland.
