Hardback with dust jacket. First edition. A Hamish Hamilton Reindeer Book. Pictorial boards with matching dust jacket. The binding is firm. The boards are slightly bruised at the spine ends and corners and are very slightly discoloured at the edges. There is a very small brown mark to the top edge of the front board. The pages are slightly age-toned but otherwise clean. A few pages have flattened creases to the top corners, where the corner has previously been turned over as a page marker. Closed page textblock edges have a few light, minor marks. Previous owner's name and address, with some smudging to the ink, in untidy writing on the front endpaper. The dust jacket is faded at the spine and rubbed at the edges, with some creasing, tiny chips and small nicks to the edges and a scotch-type-tape repair to a couple of tears of approx. 1cm at the top edge of the front cover - the repairs are to the underside of the jacket. A couple of small pale ink marks on the front flap. Front flap of the dust jacket not price clipped. pp. 127. The dust jacket is supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve. This does not adhere to the book or jacket in any way and it protects the jacket against wear. (Books photographed without the film sleeve, due to reflection). 308529
