Some rubs to the edges, light rubs, a scratch to the surface leather of the top corner of the upper board. All four corners are lightly bumped; the top two corners are rubbed, exposing board at the corner tips. The joints are good and sturdy but there are superficial surface cracks to the upper joint, at the head and tail. Both hinges are very good. Lovely brown marbled endpapers. Very small binders mark for John Bumpus, Oxford Street. No previous owner's names, inscriptions or other marks. Pages are in lovely, bright and clean, condition. A lovely vintage set of miniature books housed in a cardboard 'cupboard' display box. Publication date not stated but is c. 1965. 12 books in total and they are: The Odd Jobbers; Mr. Hedgehog; The Flower Show; Wally Weasel; The Mouse Family; Ferdy's Speedboat; Fanny Ferret; Fun-Fair; Victor Vole; A Camping Holiday; Lizzie Lamb; The Cat Family. The books have printed card covers, a single staple binding, and have some colour and black and white illustrations. Some of the books have light creasing to the pages and covers and one book has a mark inside the front cover, as though a sticker or label has been removed. The Mouse Family has had its original staple removed and a new one neatly applied. Ferdy's Speedboat has the word written in red pen just inside the front cover. A lovely vintage novelty set. There are stains to the bottom corners of both boards, next to the spine and the first approx. 6 pages and last approx. 6 pages have a pale water-type stain and a little wrinkling to the bottom edge, near the spine. Some light foxing. The binding is sturdy. Inner hinges are very good. Lovely brown marbled endpapers. All edges marbled. Very small binders mark for John Bumpus, Oxford Streeet.
