'BB' [Denys Watkins-Pitchford] Eyre & Spottiswoode London 1951 Hardcover Good Fair Book 8vo - over 7 - 9" tall 
Hardback with dust jacket. 2nd edition. Blue cloth; a small mark on the rear board and faded patch on the front board which corresponds to loss to the dust jacket. Gift inscription inside, plus another previous owner's signature. Some foxing to the f.e.p. and to the dust jacket. The dust jacket has marks, rubs to all edges, a couple of short tears and significant loss to the top edge of the front cover. Price clipped. The dust jacket is now supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve. This does not adhere to the book or jacket in any way and it serves to the protect the jacket from further wear. Denys Watkins-Pitchford: Born Lamport, Northants, 1905. He wrote and illustrated a number of books, including Carnegie Medal winner, The Little Grey Men, and numerous natural history and country sports titles as well. Particularly well-known for his scraperboard illustrations, although he also produced a number of pen and ink drawings for his books and books by other authors. Died 1990. 102624

Blue cloth; very faded boards. Bottom corners bumped, slightly affecting the bottom corner of the textblock. A few light marks to the boards. Not an attractive copy from the outside. Inside, there's a slight grubby mark in the margin of p. 40-41; otherwise VG. A slight abrasion mark on the f.e.p, a few very light foxing spots to prelims.
