Bookano Stories, with Pictures that Spring up in Model Form - No. 1 [c. 1933] Giraud, S. Louis (edited by) Strand Publications [c. 1933] Norfolk Street, London 1933 First Edition Hardcover Fair No Jacket Book 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall No publication date but I believe this volume (the first of 17 Bookano Stories volumes) to be c. 1933. The last Bookano Stories pop-up volume was published in 1949. Hardback, with pictorial paper-covered boards. Spine is pictorial paper-covered grey cloth. The binding is rubbed and chipped at the edges, with some loss to the paper covering at the head and tail of the spine, exposing grey cloth binding underneath. Thick card pages - age-toned / tanned. No previous owner's names or inscriptions. Small piece of sellotape at the top edge of the front pastedown. The binding is firm but there are numerous superficial cracks throughout the textblock, at the spine. There are 6 pop-ups in this volume, No. 1. The last three are in poor condition - all have some bits missing. The first two are very good, complete, but with a couple of minor repairs and the centrefold pop-up is in excellent condition. Some light occasional foxing. Unpaginated. 105934

How to Find Love in a Book Shop Henry, Veronica Orion Books London 2016 140914688X / 9781409146889 First Edition Hardcover New New Book 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall New hardback. Excellent fine condition. First impression. RRP £12.99. Nightingale Books, nestled on the high street in the idyllic Cotswold town of Peasebrook, is a dream come true for booklovers. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open. The temptation to sell up is proving enormous - but what about the promise she made to her father? Not to mention the loyalty she owes to her customers. Sarah Basildon, owner of stately pile Peasebrook Manor, has used the book shop as an escape from all her problems in the past few years. But is there more to her visits than meets the eye? Since messing up his marriage, Jackson asks Emilia for advice on books to read to the son he misses so much. But Jackson has a secret, and is not all he seems...And there's Thomasina, painfully shy, who runs a pop-up restaurant from her tiny cottage. She has a huge crush on a man she met and then lost in the cookery section, somewhere between Auguste Escoffier and Marco Pierre White. Can she find the courage to admit her true feelings? How to Find Love in a Book Shop is the delightful story of Emilia's fight to keep her book shop alive, the customers whose lives she has touched - and the books they all love. 322pp. The dust jacket is supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve. This does not adhere to the book or jacket in any way and it protects the jacket against wear. 305825
