Hardback, no dust jacket. First published in 1940, this is the 4th impression of 1941. Original red boards. A few tiny marks to the spine and some light bruising to the spine ends. Previous owner's name, place and date written on the front endpaper. The binding is firm and pages are clean throughout, except a previous owner has pencilled the title of the book in the bottom margin of page 257. pp. 284. 309345

New edition. Engraved title page gives the date of the original edition of 1831, followed by printed title page of this new edition of 1849. Bound in full black calf, gilt tooled spine, red title label with gilt titles, gilt ruled borders to the boards. Small volume. Previous owner's contemporary bookplate on the front pastedown - Sir Edward Cromwell Disbrowne, with a prize gift inscription written on front free endpaper, dated 1851. Engraved title page has pale stains to top and bottom edges. Pages are otherwise clean throughout and the binding firm. Minor rubs to edges of boards and spine. pp. xix, 324. 16.7 x 10.5cm. 309141

Red cloth boards. In VG condition. Top edge black. No names or inscriptions inside. Some light foxing to prelims. Plates are clean. 32 pages of text (preface + descriptions of the colour plates), followed by 96 pages colour lithographic plates, printed on good quality, heavy paper. The dust jacket has unfortunately been covered by a previous owner in a clear matt-finish plastic. This plastic covering has been stuck to the dust jacket and is NOT removable. The covering was stuck down after the jacket had already suffered some wear and tear and covers some old selloptape repairs. The dust jacket also looks greyed and grubby underneath the plastic covering. A large and HEAVY book - a postage surcharge will apply to international orders with a delivery address outside the UK as this book costs more to send than our standard postage rate will cover. Night Never Ending is the true story of Komorowski's miraculous escape from the mass grave in which the elite of Poland's intelligensia were stacked after being methodically executed in April 1940.
