The full set of six luxury bindings designed for Penguin by Bill Amberg. 1,000 copies of each were produced. The ISBN number given is for Breakfast at Tiffany's; the other volumes have separate ISBN numbers. Soft bound in vegetable tanned buffalo calf, with matching hand-tied leather tag-style bookmark bearing the name and author of the book. The skins used in the binding of these Bill Amberg editions were taken from 'fallen animals' - i.e. they died from natural causes - and were sourced from India's premium calf tannery. Made using traditional ecological methods, where the water used is recycled after filtering through reed beds. This creates leather that improves with every use, the grain and sheen brightening continually over time. Presented wrapped in Penguin / Bill Amberg tissue in a sturdy blond card box. Paper wrap-around titles slip over the box. A full set of these superb collector's editions. The only visible flaw is in the form of some small indentations to the slipcase wraparound of The Big Sleep. All volumes are still shrinkwrapped and as new. All bear the original Penguin barcodes and price labels on the shrinkwrap. The presentation boxes are in excellent FINE condition. For sale as a set only.
