Endpapers and outer edges marbled. The 'Nouveau Testament' volume has a one inch crack / repaired split in the binding at the head of the spine at the back board outer hinge. The corners of both volumes are rubbed, exposing the boards. Significant foxing to end pages; text pages are predominantly clean with occasional foxing. Previous owner's name and date [1865] written in ink on the title page of 'Nouveau Testament''. Both volumes have contemporary bookplates for the same previous owner on their pastedowns.
