First published by Peter Davies in 1952; this is the new re-set edition of 1958. Original orange boards. Boards are a little bruised at the spine ends and corners. The binding is firm and inner hinges are very good. There is a bit of damage to the bottom edge of some of the pages; a manufacturing / trimming fault by the looks of it. It mostly affects the first approx. 40 pages but there are a few pages later in the textblock with short nicks to the bottom edge. There are short tears to a number of the first 40 pages, to the bottom margin edges, some with resulting creases. Page 31/32 has a long tear coming up from the bottom of the page, nearly half the length of the page. The other tears are shorter and confined to the bottom margin. A little creasing and bump to the top edge of the first few pages. pp. 255. Some light foxing to the outer closed textblock page edges but pages are otherwise bright and clean. No previous owner's names or inscriptions. The yellow dust jacket is quite bright and clean, with a few minor light marks to the back cover. Rubs to the spine ends, corners and edges. A few short tears to the top edge of the dust jacket and a repair to the base of the spine - repaired to the underside of the jacket, with what looks like an acid-free near invisible repair tissue. Front flap not price clipped. The dust jacket is supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve.
