Hardback. Red cloth, with blind stamped patterns to boards and gilt centre decoration to upper board and gilt to spine. The boards and spine are heavily rubbed at the edges and there is a full length split to the rear joint, which has been glued by a previous owner. Inside, the binding is slightly shaken but holds. No loose pages. There is a surface crack to the front inner hinge; rear inner hinge is very good. Gift inscription on the front endpaper (dated 1868) - the ink has run, bled into the paper. Previous owner has pencilled a note on the rear of the front endpaper, detailing where they bought the book. General grubby marks and foxing to pages. Attractive Kronkheim & Co. colour frontispiece. pp. 112. An acceptable copy of this scarce little book. 308796
