An attractive little set. Spine edges, board edges and corners rubbed. Some marks to the board. No Thoroughfare has some light surface cracks to the upper joint. All volumes marbled endpapers. Publication date not stated. We believe this to be the first edition thus of 1907, or an early Nelson edition. Blue-green cloth with motif of children holding hands across the front panel. There is a prize presentation bookplate on the front pastedown, unfortunately not dated. Colour frontis. illustration + 7 further colour plates. Some light foxing to prelims and to outer textblock edges. Pages otherwise clean. The dust jacket is worn with some old reinforcements to the underside of the jacket, marks and creases and a couple of short tears, some chips and nicks to the edges. Creases to the DJ flaps.
