3 Tootles The Taxi and Other Rhymes, A Ladybird Book (Series 413)
Clegg, Joyce B. ; with illustrations by John Kenney Wills & Hepworth Ltd Loughborough 1956 Hardcover Very Good Good Book 12mo - over 6 - 7" tall Kenney, John
Hardback with dust jacket. Buff boards with blue line illustration and titles. First published in 1956; this is a reprint from c. 1965 - still an early enough copy to have the dog sitting on the pavement on the front of the dust jacket, and the children and dog in the foreground of the picture accompanying the fire engine verse (later editions were changed). The boards are slightly bumped at the corners. The book is in lovely, bright and clean, condition - no previous owner's names, inscriptions or other marks. The pages are fresh and bright, with no handling creases. The front cover of the dust jacket is bright and clean. The underside of the jacket has two pale brown stains but you can't see these on the outside as they correspond with brown parts of the illustrations. The back cover of the dust jacket has a couple of minor, light marks, and a tear (approx. 4cm) at the top corner. The front flap has been price clipped. Five titles in the series are listed on the rear dust jacket flap and a tally of over 120 available Ladybird titles is mentioned on the rear flap. pp. 51. The dust jacket is supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve. This does not adhere to the book or jacket in any way and it protects the jacket against wear. (Photographed without the film sleeve, to minimise reflection). 308904
