2 Camberwick Green Nursery Rhymes No 3
Adby, Pete (illustrated by) Dean & Son, Ltd London 1969 0603015166 / 9780603015168 Hardcover Good No Jacket Book 4to - over 9 - 12" tall
Glazed pictorial boards. A very nice clean copy of this scarce Camberwick Green book. Pages all clean, though browned at the edges. The sewn binding is in really good condition. The only two flaws are that Paddy Murphy's eyes on the front pastedown illustration have been coloured in and the rear pastedown illustration has been torn, with about an inch missing from the bottom of the picture. Considering that it is usually the binding that becomes weak with these picture books I would still classify it as a near VG copy. Published around the same time as Chigley was first aired on TV (Camberwick Green was first shown in 1966). Unpaginated. Slim children's picture book. 102045
Price: 12.50 GBP

17 Tales for Tinies (Dean's Rag Book No. 288 - Dean's 6d Patent Rag Books Series 1)
Banks, Margaret Ethel (illustrated by) Dean's Rag Book Co. Ltd [c. 1934] 1934 Soft cover Fine Book 24mo - over 5 - 5" tall Banks, Margaret Ethel
Small child's rag book / cloth book, in excellent fine condition - never used. There is the slightest wrinkle in the front cover but this doesn't detract. This rag book is pristine and the cloth stiff and feels starched. No publication date. This particular title was printed by Dean's between 1932-1936 so it falls within those dates. 137 x 112mm. Pinked (serrated) edges. Orange stitching to the spine. Printed in 8 colours. With 8 cloth pages including the covers. Folded advertising leaflet for Dean's Rag Books loosely enclosed. This title includes images from two slightly earlier Dean's titles - no. 263 Wee Friends, illustrated by Vera Bowyer, and no. 274 Jolly Jingles, illustrated by Phyllis Cooper. As fresh, bright and clean as the day it was printed - very uncommon in this condition. 308813
Price: 50.00 GBP

27 Animals and their Little Ones (Dean's Rag Book No. 62 - Fluffidown)
Berkeley, Stanley (illustrated by) Dean's Rag Book Co. Ltd [c. 1916] 1916 Soft cover Good Book 8vo - over 7 - 9" tall Berkeley, Stanley
A Dean's Rag book. Fluffidown - this should be a soft brushed cotton but this particular book is an ordinary Dean's rag cloth book; not as thick and fluffy as other Fluffidown books I have seen. Publication date not stated but estimated to be c. 1916. It was first published in 1907 and this edition was first published in 1914/15 and was in print until 1919. 12 pages including the covers. A washable cloth book, safe for babies. Pinked edges and zig zag sewn binding. Edges are frayed. This book has been well-loved and washed so the covers and pages have all faded. The book is washed and clean. A few very small pale brown marks. One page has been lovingly darned at the bottom corner (which I find charmingly endearing!) - it is the page showing Indian Ducks and Guinea-Pigs on the reverse. 205 x 165mm. 106895
