Anthony was made into a film in 1936; the film won four Academy Awards. The novel was included in Life Magazine's 1944 list of the 100 most outstanding novels of 1924-1944. Original red boards. First published in the USA in 1933, this is the first UK edition of 1944. In fair to good condition.There is a full-length crease to the spine and a slight forwards lean to the spine. Small ink spot to the bottom outer closed textblock edge. Rubs to the board edges, with some fraying and short nicks to the cloth at the spine ends and corners. Previous owner's signature on the front endpaper. Small mark to the bottom margin of a couple of pages. Some erased pencil marks to the rear pastedown.
