Small hardback with dust jacket. Green boards with darker green titles. The boards are a little faded at the edges. In 1941 the Ministry of Agriculture asked the New Zealand government if they would send a number of agriculturists to Great Britain to assist in the food production drive. Mr. G. A. Holmes was chosen to lead a group of six experts who arrived in this country in 1942 and this book records his two-and-a-half years' experience in Britain. pp. 128. The dust jacket is discoloured at the spine and has small rubs, chips, nicks to the edges and small loss at the head of the spine. Date of publication is not stated but is c. 1868-1870 [ref. British Library]. A sturdy half-calf binding with red spine label and black cloth boards. Presents nicely though there are rubs, bumps and marks to the binding and some tiny paint speckles to the boards. Faded ring marks to the front board. Faults need to be noted but this copy is better than it sounds. Joints are strong. Spine in 5 compartments with imitation bands. Original blue marbled endpapers. All edges marbled though dulled. Some foxing throughout. Some stains to the edges of a few plates, particularly the ones towards the front and back of the book. Surface cracks to inner hinges but binding firm. No names or inscriptions. pp. xvi, 1016.
