The Folios and Maps volume is hand-numbered, no. 214. Maps present and in very good condition in the front pocket of Folios and Maps. The other volumes are Introduction and Translation, and Domesday Book Studies. All three volumes are bumped at the base of the spine and the Introduction and Translation volume has two little red pen squiggles on a page towards the back of the book. If not for the pen marks I would describe the volumes as Very Good condition. The slipcase is poor, missing one end of the case. These are very LARGE AND HEAVY - overseas postage is likely to be prohibitively expensive. Original burgundy red cloth binding with gilt stamped Mr Punch motif and black floral scroll pattern on upper board. Blind stamped floral scroll pattern to lower board and gilt caricatures and titles to spine. A previous owner's name and address written on the front endpaper. Creasing to the front endpaper and half title page. The binding is nice and firm; hinges good. Cloth faded at the spine, with light marks to the spine and rubbed cloth at the spine ends. White titles. Publication date not stated but is c. 1935 as published in Commemoration of the Silver Jubilee of Their Majesties King George V and Queen Mary. There is a presentation plate loosely inserted inside the book but this has not been filled in or stuck down. A little foxing to preliminary pages and there is a rusty mark between two sections, just before the Dictionary starts. There is also a short repaired split to the bottom edge of the rear inner hinge where the rear endpaper was not fitted as tightly as it needed to be. The binding is firm. Ribbon page marker attached.
