First published in 1939, with a second edition in 1951; this copy is the new edition of 1970 with a new foreword by Denys Watkins-Pitchford. Original grey cloth boards, with fox motif to the bottom corner of the front board. Very slight bruising to the base of the spine. Signed by the author on the half-title page; flat signed, without inscription. The dust jacket has two repaired tears - one to the bottom edge of the front cover (1.5") and one to the bottom edge of the back cover (0.5"). Both tears have been neatly repaired to the underside of the jacket with acid-free archival paper repair tape. There is a further very short tear to the top edge of the back cover join with the rear flap which has not been repaired. The dust jacket laminate is lifting in parts at the spine. The book is in lovely clean condition; binding firm, pages clean, appears little handled. Dust jacket not price clipped. pp. 268. The dust jacket is supplied by us in a loose protective clear archival film sleeve. This does not adhere to the book or jacket in any way and protects the jacket against wear.
