Rear board has fading (from moisture damage exposure I would say) to the top edge and top corner of the rear board. Some colour bleed to the top corner of the rear pastedown. Some foxing. The boards are very worn and are in POOR to FAIR condition. Contents good. Spine ends and corners are rubbed and frayed with minor loss of cloth. Rubbed patch on the spine with loss to the word 'Tarsus' of the title. The rear board is damaged with biopredation and possible damp exposure - surface of the cloth is very rubbed with pale patches; ; further small stain at the edge and small hole at the spine. Interior of the book is clean, excepting some mottling to the original brown endpapers; no further foxing. Contemporary previous owner's signature at the top edge of the title page. Foredges untrimmed. viii; 392pp. 100785

Olive green cloth. This is an ex-university library copy from the Anatomical Department Library at the University of Cambridge. It was evidently just for reference, rather than borrowing, as there are no borrowing marks; there are just a few department library stamps. The book is otherwise in VG clean condition. pp. xii, 163 + publisher's catalogue pages. Dyce, The Rev. Alexander ; The Shakespeare Society Printed for The Shakespeare Society London 1842 First Edition Hardcover Good No Jacket Book 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall 
Original blind stamped brown cloth. The cloth has split at each end of the spine, with some minor loss. The binding still holds firm. There are some pale marks to the boards. Written, or transcribed, around the year 1600, this play shares some intriguing similarities with Shakespeare's Timon of Athens, including a scene resembling the banquet given by Timon to his flatterers. Some scattered foxing. There are oval red ownership stamps (for Falstaff Club, Sheffield) on the title page, pages. 33, 81 and 95. pp. 95. 'No. 50' written in contemporary script on the front pastedown and f.e.p. 23cm. 302028

Publication date not stated but Eldorado was published in 1913 and dedication date on the f.e.p. is August 1913. Inscribed and SIGNED by Baroness Orczy on the f.e.p: 'To Alice Pincham. With my dear love, Emmuska Orczy, August 1913'. Original red cloth, with pictorial onlay to the front board and gilt lettering. Lettering dulled. There is a forwards lean to the spine and the spine is faded, with some small marks. The cloth is fraying at the spine ends and corners a little rubbed. The binding is firm and hinges good. Some foxing to the endpapers, pastedowns and prelims. A few pages have been badly cut / miscut and have roughly torn foredges. I like to highlight every defect but this is still a good copy, with a nice inscription from the author. pp. x, 374. 19.5cm. 104705

5 VOLUMES OF 6 - this set lacks Volume VI which is the Index volume. Original brown cloth with gilt lettered spines. Some rubs to the board edges, some fraying to the cloth at the spine ends, some marks to the boards. Some inner hinges are lightly cracked; bindings sound. Volume III has a small amount of mottled fading from old damp exposure to the bottom edge of the rear board. Sporadic foxing through all volumes and outer closed textblock edges. Some volumes have pencilled names and dates on the f.e.p. and/or front pastedown. VOLUME I pp. lxiii, 425; VOLUME II pp. xxvii, 264; VOLUME III pp. xvi, 351; VOLUME IV xii, 420; VOLUME V pp. xvi, 364 + numerous plates. Despite flaws this is a good, sound working set.
