Uniform volumes in publisher's original dark blue cloth. Both volumes are first editions, first impressions. These two volumes are ex-Boots lending LIBRARY copies, with minimal marks. There are marks to the front boards where a shield, or other label, has been removed. There are a few other marks to the boards but no fading. Front endpapers and pastedowns are clean. There are lending library labels on the rear pastedowns, with some stamps across them, including a purple stamp 'purchased from the library'. No other library marks. No previous owner's names or inscriptions. Boards are bumped at the spine ends and lightly to a couple of corners. There is some very, very light sporadic foxing - literally just a few spots. Bindings are sound, though pull just slightly at a couple of places in the textblocks (both volumes). Volume I erratum slip tipped in at fold-out table facing p. 52 and flattened crease to top corner of one page, short tear in the bottom margin of p. 213/4 and pp. 213-220 have torn at the hinge fold c. 2 inches from the bottom of the page (barely noticeable and still bound in firmly). Volume II errata slip tipped in at half-title page, little folds to the margin of the map facing p. 530. pp. 292; ix, 293-589, [maps and charts etc.]. 23.5cm. Collated; all maps and charts are present and in very good condition.
